INCOMING.... THE PROTECTOR

More blu-ray mayhem this week with the arrival of my contributor copy of the 1985 Jackie Chan actioner THE PROTECTOR.

Chan had a miserable time making this in the US, something I talk about at length in my booklet notes for this release - Jackie Chan Western Style: The Protector and the US Rebranding of Jackie Chan - with the action star even going so far as to reshoot fight scenes and re-edit the movie for it's Hong Kong release!

Both versions of this film can be found on this release (the Hong Kong Cut is included as an extra from a superior Standard Definition copy).

The limited edition first print run of 3,000 units come with a beautiful slip cover and booklet containing my notes as well as rare photos of movies stills and publicity.
